Kai o Ngā Tau Ki Mua Food Futures Hui

Kai o Ngā Tau Ki Mua brings together science, mātauranga Māori, local producers, and local community perspectives to examine how climate change is reshaping our food systems — and what solutions are already emerging across the Manawatū and beyond.

The program includes keynote speakers, presentation sessions, panel kōrero, and interactive workshops focused on climate impacts, resilient food production, policy pathways, and community‑led change. With dedicated time for whakawhanaungatanga, networking, and delicious locally sourced kai, the event creates space for meaningful connection and collective action.

Designed for farmers, growers, students, researchers, community food groups, local government, and sustainability professionals, this hui aims to spark collaboration and inspire practical next steps toward a thriving, regenerative, climate‑ready food system for future generations.
